Whitnie Henderson
Whitnie Henderson is the legal counsel for the Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA) in Sacramento. In addition to providing the association with legal advice and representation, she also advocates on behalf of and represents the association on a broad array of legislative matters including water rights, groundwater, water use efficiency, eminent domain, land use and employer/employee relations.
Prior to joining ACWA in 2001, Ms. Henderson was the Legislative Project Coordinator for the Judicial Council of California, Office of Governmental Affairs.
Ms. Henderson is the secretary to the Association of Corporate Counsel’s (ACC) Council on Committees and immediate past chair of its New to In-house committee, and a former chair and member of the State Bar of California’s Committee of Bar Examiners, the entity responsible for the development and administration of the state’s bar examination and admittance of new attorneys. She is also a past chair of the Volunteer Center of Sacramento's board of directors.
Ms. Henderson received her J.D. from San Francisco Law School. She served as managing editor of the law review and authored an article titled, Move-Away Cases: (Custodial Parent v. Noncustodial Parent) v. Child, Whose Best Interest Should Prevail When There is a Conflict? 7 San Francisco L.Rev. 107 (1997). She has also authored a feature article and several columns for the ACC’s award winning magazine, the Docket.
