Stan Powell is an attorney practicing in the Sacramento office of the law firm of Kronick Moskovitz Tiedemann & Girard. A full-service regional law firm, KMTG specializes in a wide variety of legal disciplines, including water, energy, natural resources and environmental law. The firm represents a broad range of public and private clients, including water districts, local and state government agencies, cities, wineries, and landowners throughout California. Mr. Powell represents clients in water resource matters, with a particular emphasis on water rights, land use and water supply adequacy. His specific experience includes representing water supply agencies and private landowners before the State Water Resources Control Board, in court adjudication of groundwater rights, and in developing programs to help clients develop and manage water supplies.

Mr. Powell is a registered civil engineer and geologist with an extensive background in water resources planning, particularly groundwater and water management. Prior to practicing law, Mr. Powell worked as a consulting engineer from 1983 to 2003 with Bookman-Edmonston Engineering, Inc. and Science Applications International Corporation. He worked on a number of conjunctive use and water banking projects in California and Arizona.

Mr. Powell earned his Juris Doctor and his Masters in Business Administration from the University of California, Davis in 2007, and his Masters in Engineering from Davis in 1983.
