Frank Wolak
Dr. Wolak is the Director of the Program on Energy and Sustainable Development and a Professor of Economics at Stanford University. His research focuses on energy and environmental economic issues in the United States and internationally. He was the Chairman of the Market Surveillance Committee for the Independent System Operator of the California Electricity Supply Industry from January 1998 to March 2011. In this capacity, he testified numerous times at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and at various Committees of the US Senate and House of Representatives on issues relating to energy and electricity markets and prepared numerous reports to the FERC. Wolak received his undergraduate degree from Rice University and his S.M. in applied mathematics and Ph.D. in Economics from Harvard University.
